1. Quotes:

“Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny."
-Frank Outlaw

“All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, till they take root in our personal experience."
-Johann von Goethe

“The man who is aware of himself is henceforward independent; and he is never bored, and life is only too short, and he is steeped through and through with a profound yet temperate happiness. He alone lives, while other people, slaves of ceremony, let life slip past them in a kind of dream."
-Virginia Woolf

2. Why New Age Is So Confusing?

Welcome to part II of this 7-Part New Age Series. If you missed the first part you can read it here: What Is New Age?

The New Age movement can be so mysterious. It is such a broad, free-flowing movement that two people could belong to it and have some completely opposite beliefs, ideas, and practices. As I have said before, new age has absolutely no boundaries, central geographic location, sacred text, dogma, creed etc…

Within the new age movement, there are very few guidelines and boundaries. There is no membership. Therefore it becomes very difficult to define and measure this movement. All we can determine is that more and more people are moving towards spiritual growth.

The term “new age” can refer to many different topics including:

New Age People- People who are considered to be a part of the new age movement (also called “New Agers”)

New Age Time Period- A period of time in the near future when most people in the world will become spiritually awakened and have access to their inherent abilities

New Age Spirituality- The belief system and practices of new age people

New Age Movement- The Movement of people towards personal/spiritual growth

A brief description is given above, but we will go into further detail on each of the above topics in this report.

Now, as you can see, the term “new age” can become very confusing and complicated. But each of the subjects that fall under the category “new age” is very closely related. They all are interrelated to the new age movement.

Are New Agers The Cause of All This Confusion?

New Agers, themselves, have caused much of the confusion surrounding “New Age”. This is done totally unintentionally because many new age people don’t even know what new age is. Even I don’t fully know what it is. Since nobody speaks for it and there is no way to define it, you can’t really fully know what New Age means. New Age is something that each person can only define for themselves, and then share their definition with others, in hopes that those other people will be able to formulate their own definition and idea as to what new age means to them.

Most new age people haven’t even heard of new age, let alone understand it. Some consider it a religion, although most of them do not. Most new agers identify with other religions, but incorporate new age concepts into their faith. This is one of the main purposes of new age, as it is the first step towards Universal Religion.

New Age Criticism

New Age has faced some harsh criticism from many people and organizations. The main reasons for this are because it is such a broad movement. It is so open-minded that sometimes people that belong to this movement can have contradicting beliefs and practices. When other people see this, they don’t understand it, and therefore they publicly criticize it.

“In formal logic, a contradiction is the signal of defeat: but in the evolution of real knowledge, it marks the first step in progress toward victory.” -Alfred North Whitehead

All of the criticism that has been given to the new age movement was the result of a misunderstanding. I would like to clear up some of the bigger misunderstandings now…

New Age has been dismissed as Sufism. When actually, Sufism has been a historically established mystical movement within Islam. New Age has no connection with it.

Some Conservative Christians view the New Age as a form of Satanism (which is know for performing horrendous acts). In reality, basically no connection exists. New Age is all about love, help, support, and progress.

Also some Conservative Christians have claimed that there is some massive, underground highly organized New Age organization. They claim that this organization is infiltrating the government, churches, schools and media. But, actually, no such thing exists.

I could keep going on for a while, but I think you get the point. Pay no attention to what other people say or think, for you are the only one you have to count on. And never forget:
“All great truths begin as blasphemies.”
- George Bernard Shaw

3. Inspiration: From a Child Slave to Director

Andra Jackson
July 10, 2006

THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD internationally acclaimed children's film director Sahiful Mondal draws on his early experience of slave labour in making his latest film, The Inner Eye.

Sahiful is one of more than 500 children rescued from child labour by Swapan Mukherjee, founder of Muktaneer (meaning Open Sky), a home for destitute children in Kolkata. In Melbourne to speak to schoolchildren, the young director described The Inner Eye as a parable about indifference and cruelty.

"When we were hungry, the masters were eating, but they had not the eyes to see that we were hungry," said Sahiful, who was put into servitude at the age of four.

His father had died and his destitute mother, two sisters and a brother had ended up living in a roadside hut made of bamboo, plastic and leaves.

He worked nine hours, seven days a week as a dishwasher in a household where he was beaten for breaking a glass. He was "paid" a bowl of stale rice a day, which he shared with his mother.

He also did back-breaking work crushing mud with a brick for which he earned the equivalent of 20 cents a day. His last job was goat herding, for which he earned two portions of stale rice a day.

"One day I couldn't find a goat and I came back and told my master and they didn't give me and my mother food for two days and I was beaten," he said.

He was seven when taken into Muktaneer. There he received four meals a day, slept in a bed and was allowed to play for the first time.

Sahiful is one of 40 boys who live at Muktaneer, the house Mr Mukherjee set up during the devastating floods of 1978 that left many homeless. Some of the children had worked as slaves, while others had been kidnapped and sold.

Mr Mukherjee is the secretary of the Centre for Communication and Development in Kolkata, which runs Muktaneer, its own school and physiotherapy centre and 65 schools in West Bengal villages.

He is in Australia to establish links with educational and medical organisations and appeal for more volunteer teachers, after the Melbourne-based Friends of Kolkata attracted 18 volunteers. It is also helping build a new English-medium school and a girls school.

Sahiful's fascination with Mr Mukherjee's video camera led to the idea of boys making their own films.

His first effort, I Am — about the boys' dreams — won the Grand Prize at the 2004 International Children's Film Festival in Athens. His second film, We Are, won the festival's 2005 Grand Prize. This year, he attended the festival in Cyprus, where The Inner Eye won second prize.

The bright-eyed youngster's ambition is to make films in the tradition of the great, socially insightful Indian film director Satyajit Ray to "help people".

4. Space and Time Travel by Owen Waters

Your physical body exists at a specific location in space and time.

In order to relocate physically, you have to travel to the new location. Your mind, however, is free to roam to different locations and even to other points in time.

In recent decades, Remote Viewing – the mental viewing of remote locations – has been developed into a highly disciplined method of obtaining information from other locations in time and space.

Many people have experienced their own versions of this skill in the form of precognition or deja vu, where scenes that you suddenly recognize in your life are scenes that you had previously viewed while in another state of consciousness.

Deja vu occurs because you, as a soul, pre-planned the major themes of your life before your were born. You chose the time, the place and your parents in order to set a life plan in motion, which would explore the desired themes. Such pre-planning gave rise to the occurrence of related, meaningful events in your life, which may have given you the impression that pre-destiny does exist.

To a degree, destiny does exist. The major themes of your life are pre-planned, by you, ahead of time. As you pass through life, certain names, places, people and activities resonate with a certain special-ness in your consciousness. It’s almost as if you knew these events once before, but you can’t quite remember when or where. That is so-called destiny, unfolding into your life along the lines of pre-planned, pre-viewed events.

In the phenomenon called deja vu, this previewing occurred either during your pre-life planning or in a recent, out-of-body, dream-state where, in order to help yourself remain on-purpose, you reviewed the important, upcoming events in your life.

Your soul, or inner self, has the capability, not only to see, but to BE in different locations in space and time. Physical life is a projection of consciousness, which appears to be solid, which appears to be fixed in location, and which appears to run along a linear timeline.

Solidity, space and time are all projections of consciousness in the theater of life. They are nowhere near as fixed as we have been led to believe.

When a particularly vivid example of deja vu occurs, it is not just the recall of a recent dream, it is more likely to be a real-time connection with your inner self – your complete consciousness – when you were planning this lifetime of experience.

Your inner self can look into how a plan of action would work out by connecting with the actual event at the time and space location where the event will occur. It can be a little disorienting to be living your regular life and suddenly have a brief connection with your inner self as it was working through the planning stage of your life many years ago before you were born.

In fact, you can come out of such a contact with your complete, inner self consciousness wondering - just for a split-second - where you are, and what the date is today! Such an experience is an excellent example of the wide-ranging consciousness of your inner self. It has the ability to relocate to and directly experience other locations in space and time.

As you progress in the development of your consciousness you will acquire more and more of the attributes of the expanded consciousness of your complete, inner self. Your daily consciousness is a tight focus, a subset, of your complete consciousness. That daily, waking consciousness is now expanding to incorporate more of the capabilities which you already possess within your complete, inner self.

Now that The Shift to the New Reality is occurring, this type of inner development is accelerating rapidly. As time passes, you will become more and more capable of perceiving other locations in time and space.
